Buller to Fiordland: Mainly fine, apart from a few showers about Fiordland.
Southland, Clutha and Dunedin: Cloudy periods and a few showers.
The remainder of Otago, also Canterbury: Mostly fine. However, patchy drizzle developing in Canterbury tonight, then clearing tomorrow morning.
Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods. A few showers at times.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny. However, isolated showers possible in Northland, scattered showers in Hawkes Bay and Gisborne clearing, and late drizzle for Fiordland.
Thursday: North Island, cloudy periods increasing in the west with isolated showers developing near the west coast. Mainly fine elsewhere. South Island, rain or showers in the west, heavy in Fiordland and southern Westland later. High cloud thickening elsewhere.
Friday: North Island, showers becoming widespread in the west. High cloud further east. South Island, rain in the west, heavy at times for Westland and Fiordland. A period of scattered rain elsewhere.
Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods on Wednesday, with a few showers clearing and southwesterlies easing. Mainly fine on Thursday with winds turning northwest. Few showers returning on Friday with strong northwesterlies changing lighter southwest.
