The remainder of the North Island, also Nelson and Marlborough: Mainly fine with a few cloudy periods. Isolated showers developing from Taranaki to Manawatu tomorrow evening.
Buller to Fiordland, also Stewart Island: Rain or showers, with some heavy falls tonight and at first tomorrow for Westland and Fiordland.
Canterbury: Mainly fine, but becoming cloudy tomorrow evening with patchy drizzle.
Otago and the remainder of Southland: High cloud, with a few spots of rain for Southland at first. A few showers spreading from the south tomorrow, but retreating to coastal areas in the evening.
Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods. A few showers developing tomorrow night.
Tuesday: North Island, remaining showers clearing and becoming mostly fine. However, cloud and isolated showers developing in the east. South Island, patchy morning drizzle in the east, otherwise fine spells, but a few showers remaining in the far south.
Wednesday: North Island, mostly sunny, but isolated showers in the far north and east. South Island, mostly sunny, but isolated showers in the west and far south.
Thursday: North Island, cloud increasing and isolated showers developing in the west. Mainly fine elsewhere. South Island, showers to rain in the west, heavy in Fiordland.High cloud thickening elsewhere.
Friday: North Island, showers becoming frequent in the west. High cloud further east. South Island, rain with heavy falls in the west, easing to showers. Scattered falls for a time elsewhere.
Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods and isolated showers developing early Tuesday behind a strong, cold southwest change. Winds gradually easing Wednesday, then strong northwesterlies develops Thursday
