Whanganui to Wellington: Mostly cloudy with a few spots of rain.
Marlborough, Nelson: Occasional light rain.
Buller and Westland: Occasional rain, becoming mostly fine tonight. A few afternoon and evening showers tomorrow.
Canterbury, Otago, Southland and Fiordland: Cloudy periods. A few afternoon and evening showers inland, some possibly heavy today. Drizzle at times along the east coast.
Chatham Islands: Mostly cloudy.
Thursday: North Island, rain in the east easing, sunny spells and a few showers elsewhere. South Island, cloudy periods and a few showers, especially in the north and east.
Friday: North Island, a few showers mainly in the east and central areas,fine spells developing elsewhere. South Island, sunny spells and a few showers.
Saturday: Cloud increasing and showers developing in the western areas of both the North and South Islands then turning to rain later. Fine spells and a few afternoon and evening showers elsewhere.
Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods with a few showers and northeasterlies on Thursday and Friday. Showers becoming more frequent and Saturday as winds tend northwest.
