Buller, Westland, Fiordland and Southland: A few showers, frequent and heavy in southern Fiordland and Southland for a time today, then becoming isolated tomorrow.
Chatham Islands: Rain easing to showers tomorrow. Southwesterly gales for a time tomorrow morning.
Tuesday: North Island, fine, but a few showers mainly in the afternoon and evening. South Island, rain in the west and south. Fine spells and isolated afternoon showers elsewhere.
Wednesday: North Island, few showers in the west becoming more frequent for a time, mainly fine in the east. South Island, periods of rain in the west, possibly heavy. High cloud in the east with a few spots of rain.
Thursday: North Island, Cloudy periods with rain spreading to most places. South Island, periods of rain in the west and south. Cloudy periods and a few spots of rain further east.
Friday: North Island, Mainly fine with showers in the west gradually clearing. South Island, Mainly fine but showers in the west and south.
Chatham Islands: Few showers with southwesterlies easing on Tuesday and clearing Wednesday as winds turn northwest. Showers developing on Thursday as northwesterlies strengthen. Showers and wsterlies on Friday.
