URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST IN: Bay Of Plenty, Taranaki, Tararua,
Wairarapa, Kapiti Horowhenua, Buller

HEAVY RAIN HAS EASED AND WARNINGS FOR NORTH ISLAND RANGES AND BULLER
ARE LIFTED.
An active, complex trough is clearing the northeast of the country
tonight and all warnings for heavy rain are lifted. However, an
unstable westerly flow is expected to bring heavy showers to the west
of both islands through most of tomorrow (Thursday).

OF PLENTY
Remaining heavy showers should ease in the next few hours and the
warning is lifted.
HEAVY RAIN WARNINGS HAVE BEEN LIFTED FOR: MT TARANAKI
HEAVY RAIN WARNINGS HAVE BEEN LIFTED FOR: TARARUA RANGE
The Warning is lifted. However, periods of heavy rain are expected
through most of Thursday and a Watch remains in force.
HEAVY RAIN WARNINGS HAVE BEEN LIFTED FOR: BULLER
The Warning for heavy rain today (Wednesday) is lifted. Note, a Watch
remains in force for Thursday.

In the west from Northland to Kapiti, also Coromandel and the central high country: Showers, some heavy, with possible thunderstorms and hail from Waitomo southwards.
Bay of Plenty: A few showers, mostly about the eastern ranges.
Gisborne and Hawkes Bay: Fine weather.
Wellington and Wairarapa: A few showers about northern Wellington and the Tararua District, spreading elsewhere for a time around midday, some possibly heavy.
Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury: Heavy showers about the western ranges of Nelson. Elsewhere mainly fine with isolated showers, clearing Nelson and Marlborough around the middle of the day.
Otago, Southland: Cloudy at times. A few showers, especially from afternoon.
Buller and Westland: Occasional rain, some heavy and possibly thundery falls, clearing south of the Glaciers this afternoon.
Fiordland: Cloudy periods and isolated showers.
Chatham Islands: Showers, some possibly heavy.

Friday: North Island, a few showers in the north and west turning to rain about Taranaki afternoon and other areas in the evening. Fine in the east. South Island, a few showers in the far south and also about Buller, then evening rain in the north. Mainly fine elsewhere.
Saturday: North Island, morning rain, thundery in the west, followed by showers. South Island, thundery rain in the north easing during the morning. Rain in the east with snow down to 800 metres about the South Canterbury high country. A few showers in the far south, but mainly fine about Fiordland.
Sunday: North Island, showers, but only a few in the far south and east. South Island, a few showers and fine spells.
Chatham Islands: Showers clearing on Friday with westerlies easing. Heavy rain and strong northeasterlies on Saturday, then showers on Sunday with northerlies turning westerly and rising to gale.
