Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, Gisborne and Hawkes Bay: Periods of rain, with some heavy falls until tomorrow evening.
Manawatu to Wellington: Cloudy with a few spots of rain. Fine spells developing tomorrow afternoon.
Wairarapa, Marlborough, Canterbury and coastal Otago: Cloudy with patchy drizzle, clearing tomorrow afternoon.
Nelson, Buller and Westland: Fine spells, and isolated showers.
Southland, Fiordland and inland Otago: Areas of low cloud morning and night. Fine in the afternoons apart from isolated showers.
Chatham Islands: Cloudy.
Friday: North Island, showers for most but more frequent east of Tauranga at first. South Island, sunny spells and a few showers, mainly during the afternoon and evening.
Saturday: Cloud increasing and showers developing in the western areas of both the North and South Islands then turning to rain in the west of the South Island later. Fine spells and a few afternoon and evening showers elsewhere.
Sunday: Rain or showers for most, clearing in the eastern areas during the day and remaining dry about the Hawkes Bay and Gisborne.
Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods with a few showers and northeasterlies on Friday. Showers persisting on Saturday and Sunday and winds tend northwest.
