Southland: High cloud, and a few spots of rain from afternoon.
Fiordland: Rain, with heavy and possibly thundery falls this evening.
Chatham Islands: Showers clearing this morning.
Monday: North Island, cloudy periods and a few showers in the west, mainly fine elsewhere. South Island, rain or showers in the west and far south, with snow flurries possible to 600 metres in the south. Mainly fine with high cloud elsewhere.
Tuesday: North Island, remaining showers clearing and becoming mostly fine. However, cloudy periods and isolated showers developing in the east. South Island, showers in the west and south clearing and fine spells increasing. Mostly sunny elsewhere.
Wednesday: North Island, mostly sunny, but isolated showers in the far north and east. South Island, mostly sunny, but a few showers developing in Fiordland.
Chatham Islands: Cloudy periods and northwesterlies on Monday. Showers developing early Tuesday behind a strong, cold southwest change, gradually easing on Wednesday.
