It's often said if it's too good to be true, it probably is. While that may not be the case for Briscoes' sales, it is for an email offering free vouchers.

Briscoes has issued a warning after several customers reported receiving a scam email from them.

The emails were offering high-value Briscoes vouchers for free, as part of a birthday celebration.

All users had to do was click a link in the email and answer a short survey, and they'd be entered in the draw for a voucher.

But people shouldn't plan their $250 shopping trip just yet.

"These emails are not sent by, or endorsed by Briscoes in any way," the company has warned in their own email.

Briscoes says people who received the email shouldn't click on any links in it, and instead should forward it to contact@briscoes.co.nz.
