The Commerce Commission is to prosecute Christmas hamper company Chrisco, over breaches of the Fair Trading Act.

The Commission claims Chrisco misleads customers over how much it can charge them if they cancel their order.

Chrisco cancellation charges can be as much as 50 percent of the total value.

The Commission says that is too high and expects to lay a number of charges in the new year.
