Power prices are set to come down for members of Grey Power with a new partnership the organisation has formed with Pulse Energy.

Grey Power Electricity promises to give members access to low-cost power, easy-to-read bills and a New Zealand-based call centre.

Organisation national president Roy Reid hopes all members take advantage of the partnership.

"All of our members are experiencing increased power prices, so this partnership with Pulse will give our members some respite to the increased cost of living.

"It is our hope that other senior citizens across New Zealand will join us in our goal of improving the welfare and wellbeing of our members."

Pulse chief executive Gary Holden says the service is a way to give back to senior citizens.

"This country has been built on the back of the efforts of senior citizens and we hope to finally show them some of the benefits of deregulation."

The two organisations have been working on the partnership for a number of months.
