The red carpet of the 88th Academy Awards is underway from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and the stars have not disappointed as they begin to turn out in all their glamour.

These Oscars, hosted by Chris Rock, are expected to be eventful -- with protests expected as a result of the #OscarsSoWhite movement.

Leonardo DiCaprio is in line for Best Actor for his role in The Revenant, which would see him win his first ever Oscar. DiCaprio support has been momentous online.

The Revenant has 12 nominations, including for Best Picture.

The Room is also set to win big, with the film’s Canadian actor Jacob Tremblay unsurprisingly looking adorable on the red carpet in a tuxedo.

Screenwriter Benjamen Cleary and Scottish actress Chloe Pirrie have arrived, along with Best Supporting Actress nominee Alicia Vikander for The Danish Girl wearing lemon, and presenter Sofia Vergara in navy.

Actor in a Leading Role Oscar nominee Eddie Redmayne has also arrived with his wife Hannah Redmayne, and Olivia Wilde looking striking in white.
