Pop superstar Adele has confirmed her first ever New Zealand concert is happening March 23, 2017 at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium.

The 'Someone Like You' hitmaker will be bringing a 360-degree, in-the-round production to the home of the Auckland Warriors, less than a week after Justin Bieber performs there.

As reported by Newshub last month, Adele's single New Zealand date has been added to her tour along with concerts in five Australian cities.

Live Nation is bringing the record-breaking, award-winning artist down under after a reported bidding war with local promoters - one of whom was TEG Dainty, who was hoping to secure her as the first concert for Eden Park.

The in-the-round production is "designed to create intimacy" and will feature reserved seating on both the playing arenas and the grandstands.

Tickets go on sale to the general public at midday on Thursday, November 24.
