Aerosmith are set to raise the roof at Dunedin's Forsyth Barr stadium, with a one-off concert announced for April 24.
Backing the legendary rockers will be Wolfmother, Jon Stevens, Head Like a Hole and Diva Demolition.
Guitarist Joe Perry told Firstline this morning New Zealand had been top of the band's list of places they were yet to visit.
"To see finally we were able to pull it together and get this machine – Aerosmith's a pretty big circus on wheels, or on wings or whatever – it's just been a scheduling thing over the years. I don't know how to explain it, other than we are going to come this time, and we're really excited about it."

Perry admits his knowledge of New Zealand doesn't really extend beyond what movies are filmed here. Frontman Steven Tyler's daughter Liv, of course, starred in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, filmed here about a decade ago.
"We're just looking forward to coming down there… We're going to be the fire you have a party around. We're going to provide plenty of rhythm and plenty of energy down there."
Since forming in 1970, Aerosmith have sold more than 100 million records, with hits spanning their career.
"We have two or three decades of fans, different generations, so probably one of the biggest issues we have is picking out a set, figuring out which songs people are going to want to hear… The stuff from the late '80s and '90s will probably be the heaviest. We'll play a few of the early [songs] too."
Last year Aerosmith released their first album of all-new material in over a decade, Music From Another Dimension!. This year marks the 40th anniversary of their first.
"It's an important year for us I think, and being able to come down finally to New Zealand, it just all fits in."
