Age of Adaline review

It's not a normal life for 29-year-old Adaline Bowman.

For a start, despite celebrating her birthday every year, she never gets a day older.

Sounds like a dream come true? Well like all dreams come true, they usually come with quite a bit of small print.

Blake Lively is Adaline, and as the years march on, her curious very secret condition means a transient life of constantly changing identities and moving cities.

She barely sees her aging daughter Fleming, and she leaves behind her a trail of broken hearts - her own included.

But when she meets Ellis, things change.

And when she meets his father, things get very complicated indeed.

Game of Thrones fans and anyone with a seasoned appreciation for a fine looking man will welcome this big screen outing for Michiel Huisman, and while Lively won't ever win an Oscar, she does well enough here.

This is not usually my kind of film and while by no means a classic or must-see, Age of Adaline did deliver above expectations.

I was reminded that Harrison Ford can indeed act and he was a highlight here. Don't knock yourself out to see it, but it won't scar you for life if you do.

Three stars.
