Air New Zealand wants to take US late night host James Corden's 'Carpool Karaoke' to new heights, inviting him to sing with its pilots in the cockpit.

The national carrier put it all on the line, publicly tweeting the British comedian asking for him to take part in 'Cockpit Karaoke' with a slickly produced video.

Corden has made a name for himself with his 'Carpool Karaoke' videos, with superstars like Adele, Chris Martin, Selena Gomez, Jennifer Lopez and US First Lady Michelle Obama taking part.

Regardless of who's in the passenger seat with him, millions watch each video posted to YouTube. Now Air NZ wants a piece of the action.

"Hey James, It's us. Your old pals from New Zealand.

"Mate, we've got a pitch for you (Lol pitch, see where we're going with this.) Picture this: You. Us. Hashtag views. Hashtag lols. #CockpitKaraoke Think about it."

The video doesn't actually include anyone singing, but perhaps they'll leave that for later.

Corden is yet to respond via Twitter, but Air NZ did give him a number of ways to get in touch - including suggesting a message in a bottle.
