Alice Eve thinks women are "sexual" and "coy creatures".

The blonde actress has her most provocative role yet as a mistress in Neil LaBute's upcoming movie Some Velvet Morning.

The film follows her alter ego Velvet as she takes an emotional trip with co-star Stanley Tucci's character Fred, who claims to have left his wife for her.

Alice enjoyed embodying such a powerful female lead and diving deep into the inner longings women have.

"LaBute's come to a point where he's willing to talk about a woman's [perspective], investigate women in a way he hasn't before - the grey areas of being a woman," Alice told nydailynews.com.

"We're sexual, complex, coy creatures - and interested in power and dynamics and the same sort of stuff men play in."

Before this racy part Alice had her breakthrough as scientist Carol Marcus in Star Trek Into Darkness. One scene in the sci-fi movie sees her strip to her underwear in front of Chris Pine's Captain Kirk, which caused outrage among fans.

The 31-year-old star is still amused by the reaction and can't get her head around what caused the negative comments.

"It was strange - it really caused a kind of disruption! I don't think I'll ever know why," she laughed. "Maybe it was [fanboys'] anger over the fact that Carol Marcus and Capt. Kirk never actually had sex."

She previously spoke about how they filmed the risqué scene and what director J.J. Abrams said to her beforehand.

"Horrified is the wrong word but I was definitely ready to stay away from chips at that point," she recently mused when asked how she felt about showing off her body.

"We actually shot it with silver underwear and in post-production they changed it to black. J.J. came up to me at a party and said: 'We changed the underwear.' I was like: 'I could have just worn black.' I'm happy either way."
