Broadcaster Alison Mau has slammed local gossip magazine Woman’s Day for getting its “creepy” photographers to “stalk” her.

Last week the New Zealand Herald and its gossip columnist Rachel Glucina came under fire for outing Mau as being in a gay relationship, an act  described as  “disgraceful” and “reprehensible” by GayNZ.com editor Jay Bennie.

The latest issue of Woman’s Day, which hit stores yesterday, has an article called ‘Alison Mau’s sleepover’.

The magazine has photos of Mau carrying coffee with a caption saying: “Having stayed over with brunette Karleen, Ali made a brief excursion to fetch coffee for the girls.”

Mau was clearly unhappy with the article and said that some of the photos had been taken over a month ago.

“This means that a Woman's Day paparazzi photographer has been stalking me, my children, and my friends for a month now,” Mau exclaimed on TV One's Breakfast this morning.

“Following me to the supermarket, to my kids' tennis, to the touch rugby, and to and from school. In my mind that's a gross intrusion of their privacy. And frankly, it's more than a little bit creepy.

“A vocal minority have said I'm in the public eye, it's a fair cop, and it's hard for me to disagree with you on that.

“But I have a question for Woman's Day editor Sarah Henry and her off-sider Katherine Milford. Perhaps you would be kind enough to let me know when this kind of thing is going to stop? Give me an idea when the dogs will be called off and me and my family can go about our business without having a creepy guy in a Corolla station wagon following us around.”

Mau then invited viewers to email Henry and let her know what they thought of Woman's Day publishing the story.

She also explained that she had not received money for a story in the latest New Idea and says the photos in that article were “nicked” from a publicity shoot in November.

She concluded the segment by throwing the magazines over her shoulder. Watch the full clip below.
