American Horror Story star Sarah Paulson in talks to join Ocean's Eleven spinoff

Sarah Paulson is reportedly in talks to join the cast of the all-female Ocean's Eleven spinoff, currently named Ocean's Ocho.

The American Horror Story star would join a lineup of heavyweight stars, including Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and pop singer Rihanna.

The spinoff will be directed by the Hunger Games' Gary Ross, who most recently made the upcoming Civil War drama Free State of Jones, starring Matthew McConaughey.

Ocean's Ocho will reportedly follow a similar format to the initial franchise, with previous director Steven Soderbergh stepping in as a producer.

"[Ocean's Eleven director] Steven Soderbergh and I are incredibly close friends, and we would not have done this if we weren't," Ross told Slashfilm in June.

Filming begins in October this year.

Paulson is known for her work in all six seasons of American Horror Story, for which she has been nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards.

She will also star in the 2017 J.D. Salinger biopic Rebel in the Rye.
