Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are reportedly set to adopt a Syrian orphan.

The pair are already parents to three adopted children – Maddox from Cambodia, Zahara from Ethiopia and Pax from Vietnam – as well as three biological children, daughter Shiloh and twins Vivienne and Knox.

But following a recent trip to Syria in her capacity as UN ambassador, Angelina is said to have decided to once again extend her "rainbow family" by adopting a refuguee.

"On one solo trip, Angelina met three Syrian orphan siblings," an insider told RadarOnline.com. "They were all brothers. The middle child could speak some English

"Angelina was heartbroken to learn the three of them had seen their father taken away by Syrian soldiers, and their home was also bombed. And they lost their mother in the bombing."

"The oldest of the three was very quiet but never left Angie's side during the visit."

After returning to the United States, Angelina is said to have pitched the idea of adopting all three brothers.

However, Brad apparently put his foot down, before agreeing to adopt one of the children.

"Going from six children to nine was just way too much, and Brad was concerned about how it would impact their other kids," the insider added. "But Angie didn't put up a fight. She knew it just wouldn't work."

Despite the pair agreeing to adopt another child, the legal process to do so is a lengthy one.

So it could take "at least another four to five months" before Angelina and Brad's children have another sibling.

It was previously claimed back in April that the couple were set to adopt from Syria, but the couple denied the allegations at that time.
