At The Drive-In sparked a frenzy on Monday as fans flocked to a small Texas club to see the cult band play their first show in 11 years.

The group, which disbanded after guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez quit in 2001, thrilled fans in January by announcing plans for a comeback and they proved as popular as ever at a sold-out concert at Red 7 in Austin.

The venue was packed to capacity and devotees who failed to land tickets even climbed up trees and onto adjacent rooftops to catch a glimpse of the reunited rockers.

Taking to the stage, frontman Cedric Bixler-Zavala told the crowd, "Thank you for your time, your patience and all your love", before launching into a set including their tracks 'Arc Arsenal', 'One Armed Scissor' and 'Catacombs'.

At The Drive-In will play at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival later this month before hitting the UK for the Reading and Leeds festivals this summer.
