Aziz Al-Sa’afin: 6 Pokemon Go features you can expect to see

Earlier this week Pokemon Go developers announced in-game trading is on its way.

Players will soon be able to trade their creatures with other players.

This feature is core to the Nintendo games and in the series, which leads us to think, what else could be on the Pokemon horizon?

Niantic chief executive John Hanke already let slip a few things that are on the way at Comic-Con.

You can't have players trading without interaction. The announcement of the trading feature means players will either be able to see other players on their maps, or the developers will create trading centres much like the gyms that already exist.

Player interaction also means one obvious thing every player has been looking towards: one-on-one trainer battles. This is something absolutely crucial to the series and we'll most definitely see the feature rolled out in the app.

It means players won't just have to go to gyms to battle other players, but rather in their own areas. I wouldn't be surprised if a player ranking system is introduced either.

Trading won't just stop at Pokemon. It makes sense that much like the series; players will be able to trade items too.

We'll also see an introduction of items Pokemon fans will remember from the original games. It was revealed earlier this week the app already has a 'master ball' coding which would make sense for catching those legendary creatures everyone wants.

Another item expected to be added is what we call the Zubat-save-in-grace, Repellent. It features quite heavily in the original game, and gives players the ability to turn it on to detract low-level common Pokemon from appearing for a designated time.

Right now all players can really do at Pokestops is get items, and activate lures for Pokemon. But that's not all that's in store for the game feature.

Mr Hanke has already revealed they will expand what players will be able to do at Pokestops. Much like the Poke centres in the games, this could mean gamers will be able to heal their creatures there, buy specialty items, and manage them along with their items in a bank.

Upon reaching level 5, every player chooses a team alliance. Team Instinct is Yellow, team Valour is red, and Team Mystic is blue. These not only correlate with the legendary bird Pokemon Zapdos, Moltress, and Artiquino, but with the series' most powerful Gym Leaders Spark, Candela, and Blanche.

Mr Hanke has alluded to the fact that based on which team you choose, might play into which Legendary Pokemon you'll be able to catch.

"They're kind of aligned with the teams, and we might have something to announce about the teams soon," says Mr Hanke.

Another major feature we haven't seen yet but will most likely make its way in is Pokemon breeding.

In the games you can leave two Pokemon in a breeding centre and after a few days they'll produce an egg that you can hatch. The concept was introduced in generation two of the series.

Basically there's certain Pokemon that will only come out of this process, classified as "baby Pokemon". These include the adorable Togepi & Riolu.

If there's one thing we know so far, Pokemon Go players are curious. Those who have played the games or watched the series already know of what's to come.

There have been many Easter eggs revealed in the game already.

One player discovered that by nicknaming your Eevee certain names would designate what kind of Pokemon you could evolve it into. The name "Pyro" will give you a Flareon, "Rainer" will give you a Vaporeon, and "Sparky" means you'll get a Jolteon.

Mr Hanke says there's plenty more "Easter eggs" which players haven't found yet.
