The Big Day Out isn’t happening in Auckland next year for the first time in over a decade, but that doesn’t mean Kiwis won’t miss out on many of the festival’s highlights.
In addition to headliners Red Hot Chili Peppers' previously announced shows, other groups that have now confirmed New Zealand shows in Januaray are Crystal Castles, Band of Horses, Alabama Shakes, Animal Collective and Pretty Lights.
Many of the gigs take place simultaneously, meaning just like at the Big Day Out itself, Kiwi music lovers will have to make some hard decisions about who they see and who they don’t.
