Maaka Fiso kicked off last night's episode of The X Factor NZ with 'Never Too Much' by Luther Vandross. In what was his least impressive performance of the series, Fiso was told by Ruby Frost that his backing vocalists showed more energy than he did.

Daniel Bedingfield had the crowd roaring with disapproval when he told Anna Wilson he didn't believe she could be a recording artist.
But he wasn't the only one that felt this way. Mel Blatt said that with this week being a double elimination, after her performance of Etta James' 'At Last', Wilson should be worried.
The biggest drama of the evening was the fight that developed between Blatt and Bedingfield over 14-year-old contestant Cassie Henderson.
The disagreement kicked off when Blatt claimed Bedingfield didn't know what to do with an act of her age.
"You could be a popstar, and you pretty much already are. If only your mentor knew what to do!" Blatt said.
Bedingfield defended himself in an argument that lasted well into, during and out of a commercial break with Dominic Bowden reminding them that the show must continue on to another act. It was very heated!
Speaking of heated, Benny Tipene looked stunning singing 'Sexual Healing' – but Stan Walker wanted him to be more sexual.
GAP5, supergroup in the making, performed 'Mr Big Stuff'. They looked and sounded just like what you'd expect from a world famous girl band. Although the performance was less upbeat than what I was hoping, it still ticked all the boxes. I'm officially a gapster now.
One comment that came from Bedingfield about GAP5 was his comment that they need to go to the gym more often. What a bad message to send to youngsters watching at home.
The quote of the night also came from Bedingfield. In response to Whenua Patuwai's performance he said:
"I want you to stay in the show so we can see what else you pull out of yourself."
I'm sure I wasn't the only one laughing at this.
One act that needed to up their game last night was Moorhouse, who were a shock inclusion in the bottom two last week.
Bedingfield said New Zealand would be fools to vote them off but Ruby Frost said they were losing their edge by being too cheesy.
I personally liked their performance and I can't get over how much band member Brock Ashby looks like Shaun Johnson from the New Zealand Warriors.
Fletcher Mills delivered for the second week in a row covering 'Ain't No Sunshine' and Jackie Thomas wrapped things up with 'Son of a Preacher Man'.
Blatt wasn't a fan of Thomas' performance saying it was a bit too High School Musical. I wasn't aware this was a bad thing!
