Robin Thicke's summer smash 'Blurred Lines' has beaten Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' to be named Britain's biggest-selling single of 2013.

The singer's catchy hit, which has just landed a Grammy Award nomination for Record of the Year, has sold 1.44 million copies across the nation to claim the title, just ahead of the French dance duo's 1.28 million, barring any sudden surge in sales of the Daft Punk track.

DJ Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' has been ranked the third most popular tune of the year, while Passenger's 'Let Me Go' and Naughty Boy's 'La La La' round out the annual top five.

Gotye claimed last year's honour with 'Somebody That I Used to Know', which shifted 1.32 million copies in the UK.
