Boy star James Rolleston on road to full recovery

Actor James Rolleston is progressing well in an Auckland rehabilitation centre after his serious car accident in July.

Sources close to the Boy actor say it will be a long road back to full health, but he's showing strong signs of recovery, and even has his sense of humour back.

Rolleston was involved in a major car accident on the night of July 26, which saw the car he was travelling in crash into an east Opotiki bridge. He had to be cut from the wreckage and was airlifted to intensive care at Waikato Hospital.

Rolleston's burgeoning big screen career is on hold for now, but he has had a very busy past year.

He plays the lead role in New Zealand film The Rehearsal which is released in cinemas on Thursday, and he shot the remake of Goodbye Pork Pie opposite Dean O'Gorman earlier this year, which is currently in post-production.

Pork Pie is set for release In February.
