Bravo to launch on July 3

MediaWorks' new reality TV channel Bravo will launch on the morning of July 3, the company has announced.

The channel's first night of primetime viewing will be headed by Dance Moms, which hits the airwaves at 8:30pm.

Primetime shows over the channel's first week include Flipping Out, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Below Deck Mediterranean, The Real Housewives of Orange County, Vanderpump Rules and Shahs of Sunset.

Local production The Real Housewives of Auckland will screen from August.

"Beyond launch, audiences can expect more new shows focused on the brand's unique passion points of glam, design, food and pop culture," MediaWorks said in a statement.

Bravo will be on Freeview channel four and Sky channel 12, replacing MediaWorks' kids-oriented channel FOUR. Many of FOUR's programmes will switch to TV3, including Sticky TV and The Moe Show.

It's not known yet at what time they'll screen, since weekday mornings from 6am to 9am are taken up by news show Paul Henry.

Bravo +1 will screen on Freeview channel nine and Sky channel 512. All shows will be available on demand via 3NOW on Apple and Android devices.

Bravo began life in the 1980s as a commercial-free arts and culture cable channel in the US. The New Zealand version is a joint venture between MediaWorks and NBCUniversal.
