Nelson brother and sister act Broods are leaping to new heights in the US, following a strong performance on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Caleb and Georgia Nott performed a live rendition of their track 'Free' which was released in March, and is currently sitting on New Zealand's Top 40 music charts.

Band manager and fellow Kiwi Ashley Page says it's a significant milestone for the pair.

"I'm incredibly proud, it's just a really strong benchmark for how you're progressing in a career. To get on any American TV show is hard, but to get on one of the big shows that everyone talks about, where people share files all over the world, it's exciting," she says.

The performance was uploaded to the show's YouTube channel and has since been watched more than 20,000 times.

Mr Page admits it can be nerve-wracking guessing how the performance is being received by viewers, but says it's been all positive.

"There are different time zones in America so you're watching the East Coast response and then two hours later you're watching the West Coast response, and then globally you're getting feedback from all over the world."

Recently they have been the opening performance for the Ellie Goulding on the North American leg of her Delirium World Tour. Broods will tour New Zealand in early July, in a tour that's now been extended to the US as well. "The shows over there are doing well, in Los Angeles we're playing in a 3000 capacity room which is not a small room. Again, it's a big six-week run across America", says Mr Page.

The band mightn't have gained as much traction as fellow New Zealander Lorde, but their manager says with new exposure, Broods' popularity will grow.

"We're not top of the Billboard charts as yet, they're not nominated for Grammy's yet, but we're really encouraged by the way things are going," he says.
