Following Kim Kardashian's armed robbery, more celebrities are expected to share less on social media, or even delete their accounts altogether.

The reality TV star's friend Chrissy Teigen has made her Twitter account private, saying she "isn't strong enough anymore" to be "absorbing things 24/7".

The model had previously come to Kardashian's defence as trolls mocked her for being the victim of a violent crime, saying "some shit isn't funny" and "celebs are supposed to love you guys while also knowing you'd make a meme of our dead bodies to get retweets".

Pop star Justin Bieber, one of the biggest social media stars in the world, deleted his Instagram account in August after becoming frustrated with negative comments.

Kardashian herself, normally a prolific social media sharer, hasn't published anything since her ordeal in Paris.

While many have suggested her flaunting of wealth on social media may have enticed the robbers to strike, Kardashian is reportedly just in need of a break following her shock, also cancelling event appearances.

Her sister Khloe, however, has broken her social media silence since the robbery, publishing a sexy black and white video to promote the launch of her label, Good American.

Caitlyn and Kylie Jenner have both also posted since the incident in Paris, for which the perpetrators are still at large.
