Chloe Grace Moretz never felt more "alone" than she did while filming Carrie.

The 16-year-old actress embodies the troubled teenager in director Kimberly Peirce's remake of the 1976 horror film.

There were some scenes which proved to be incredibly emotional, reducing Chloe to tears.

"I'm lucky that I don't get scared very easily, but there were plenty of moments where you can't help but identify with the isolation and suffering that Carrie experiences. This film messes with your head a lot," she recalled to British magazine Look.

"Filming that scene at the prom, I could hear this hissing, and I was like, 'Oh God, it's releasing', and this huge torrent of blood pours over me, covering my face. It was all around me, then the director cued the kids to laugh at me, and in that moment I really became Carrie.

"I was so alone. I went back to my trailer at the end of the day, and just sat down and started crying. I'd never felt so alone in my entire life. It was terrifying being in that moment."

Chloe was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and later moved to Hollywood to pursue her acting career. Although she entered the industry at a young age teenager doesn't feel pressured to go against her upbringing and change her lifestyle.

"No, not now! Maybe later, who knows? But for now, I'm so happy with my life that I don't need to be rebellious," she said, when asked if she has any plans to go off the rails.

"I wouldn't want to jeopardise what I've accomplished. I could do drugs and drink, but why would I want to do something that could strip away everything I've spent all my life working for?"
