Honey G has waved goodbye to her X Factor fans after being sent home from the show in the latest episode.

Despite Sharon Osborne pleading with the other judges to keep her on and kick off 5 After Midnight instead, Simon Cowell cast the deciding vote and ended the controversial rapper's talent show dream.

"I just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed working with everyone on X Factor," she said after being voted off.

"The X Factor team are the most amazing people I've ever met. This has been a completely life-changing experience for me... Everybody who said that I couldn't make it here - I'm standing here right now!"

The X Factor UK was initially slammed for broadcasting Honey G, who was accused of cultural appropriation and turning black rap culture into a joke with her comical raps.

There was a lot of online chatter about the legitimacy of her act, to which she replied that she was "stepping up to the streets" and "I just say middle finger to my haters".

Notoriously negative judge Cowell was not a fan of Honey G to begin with, but she won him over, making his decision to send her packing a difficult one.

"I didn't think you were right for this competition, but I've got to give you something - you've got guts," Cowell told her.

"You've taken so much and you've just soldiered on. But here's my issue: I have to do what I think the public would expect me to do in this position."

Honey G's real name is Anna Georgette Gilford. She's a 35-year-old from North West London in Harrow.
