Corey Feldman, star of '80s movie classics like Stand By Me and The Goonies, is scared to show his face in public after his appearance on a US talk show was widely mocked online.

Feldman and his band, Corey's Angels, performed 'Go 4 It', a song from their recent double album, Angelic 2 The Core on NBC's Today, on Friday.

The Sharknado 3 star, dressed all in black, busted out his best Michael Jackson moves.

"It's a similar style of dance, because we grew up dancing together. He was my idol," Feldman explained before the dubstep-inspired beat kicked in.

His all-girl band was dressed in white mini-skirts, stockings and fluffy halos.

"Angels have probably saved me once or twice in my life, and I like helping them as well," said Feldman.

Viewers weren't impressed with what followed however, and let the '80s heartthrob know.

He later pulled the video from his Facebook page.

"We just wanted to tell everybody that it's been really painful," Feldman told his followers.

"We put ourselves out there, and we did the best that we could. And, I've never had such mean things said about me. Like constantly.

"We can't get out of bed right now. We're petrified to even go out ... And I'm sorry, but we just wanted the world to know we're really freaked out over this and it's really not fair."

Not everyone hated it though. Actual pop star P!nk was impressed, telling Feldman she's still a fan.

"I know how much it takes to get up there and do your thing. Keep your head up and know that you're loved," she wrote on Twitter.

After admitting in a video he was only human, Feldman loosened up and saw the funny side - saying if everyone online was talking about him, the curious performance had done its job.
