Judges from The X Factor NZ were at Sylvia Park in Auckland tonight to meet their fans, but one judge was noticeably absent.
Daniel Bedingfield has come under fire for his decision to send home Taye Williams, and missed the appearance due to "security concerns".

Contestant Cassie Henderson says Bedingfield can be unpredictable to work with.
"He's a little bit crazy," she says. "He's a bit like the Mad Hatter."

Fellow judge Mel Blatt had "no comment" when Bedingfield was mentioned.
Sparks could fly on Sunday, when the judges have to sit down together for the next live show.
