Details of David Bowie's will have been revealed.

The British singing legend died on January 10 at the age of 69 following a long battle with cancer.

Now he has left an estate valued at nearly £100 million - that's about NZ$219M.

Half will go to his widow, actress and model Iman, along with the home they shared in New York. The rest is shared between his son and daughter Duncan Jones and Alexandria Zahra Jones.

Both have received 25 percent of the estate; Alexandria was also left a home in upstate New York, BBC reports.

Bowie has also left his long-time assistant Corinne Schwab nearly NZ$4m and some shares.

Also included in the will is a request asking to have his ashes cremated on the Indonesian island of Bali. However, if that is "not practical" then he's asked for his ashes to be scattered there "in accordance with Buddhist rituals".

The will was filed in a Manhattan court on Friday under Bowie's legal name, David Robert Jones, according to the BBC.

His body was cremated on January 12 in New Jersey, and no family and friends were present at the ceremony, in accordance with his wishes.

The singer released the album Blackstar two days before his death.
