Fandoms are set to merge as Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has been tapped for the female lead in the upcoming Star Wars spin-off film focusing on Han Solo.

Clarke, best known for her role as the Mother of Dragons in HBO's fantasy epic, is set to join Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover, who have already been confirmed for the roles of Han Solo and fellow smuggler Lando Calrissian, respectively.

Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who are also writing the screenplay, reportedly screen-tested two separate groups of actresses before settling on Clarke.

Like upcoming Star Wars anthology film Rogue One, the as-yet-untitled spin-off is set before the events of original film Star Wars: A New Hope.

The film currently has a release date of May 25, 2018.
