Emma Stone and Seth MacFarlane will be announcing the 2013 Oscar nominations this week.

The Gangster Squad actress is teaming up with Ted director Seth to unveil who is in the running for the prestigious accolades on Thursday. Seth revealed the news on his Twitter page, while also cracking a joke about Kim Kardashian’s high-profile pregnancy.

“I'll be announcing the Oscar nominees on Jan. 10 at 5 a.m. with Emma Stone. We'll also be revealing the name of Kanye & Kim's baby (Zeus) (sic),” he wrote.

The 85th annual Academy Award nominations will be announced during a news conference at the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills.

The movies hotly-tipped to be recognised include Lincoln, Les Misérables, Silver Linings Playbook, Zero Dark Thirty and Argo.

Emma is no stranger to the Oscars ceremony, having presented the best visual effects award with Ben Stiller at the event last year.

Seth will also host the Academy Awards on February 24 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. This is the first time since Charlton Heston in 1972 that an Oscar host has also been involved in the nominations announcements.

Last year’s Academy Awards nominations were announced by The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence. She is widely expected to receive a nod for her appearance in Silver Linings Playbook.
