Six years ago a small game called Fable came out.

Thanks to a charming story, gamers here were won over – as well as various celebrities.

Now we have Part 3 – and those celebrities have all lent their voices to the cause.

He has won Oscars, Baftas and Golden Globes – but Sir Ben Kingsley’s latest outing is a videogame.

“What drew me to it was the team; how organised they were, how committed and how beautiful the game was,” he says.

He is talking about Fable 3 – the latest in a franchise that is known for having fans both young and old.

Sir Kingsley praised the team, so 3 News met with one of them, who has been there since day dot.

“Oh the team is absolutely brilliant, lots of us been there for Fable 1, 2 and 3, so we know each other way too well – we've got the best job in the world,” says Louise Copley of Lionhead Studios.

Along the way Fable has gathered an extremely loyal fanbase, largely due to some solid writing.

“I guess one of the things we're most proud of is the story and the drama and the characters you meet,” Ms Copley says.

“We’ve got the most fantastic voice acting in there.”

One of those voices in Simon Pegg of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz fame.

“One of things that’s missing is good writing and good voice work,” Pegg says.

“Just because they're games doesn't mean they don’t require the same attention movies do.”

That's right – as well as Sir Kingsley, voice actors like Simon Pegg are on board, along with John Cleese and Stephen Fry.

As far as a list goes, it's fairly impressive.

“Jonathan Ross was actually announced on Twitter before we knew we had him in the game so for us that was brilliant,” Ms Copley says.

Fable 3 is out now; Lionhead says there are plans to take the franchise up to Fable 5.
