The latest X-Men film has opened in New Zealand cinemas this week as the seventh film in the franchise.
Days of Future Past is a time-travelling storyline that brings together the two X-Men universes created by directors Bryan Singer (X-Men, X2) and Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class).
Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy reprise their roles as Professor Charles Xavier, and Ian McKellen and Michael Fassbender will return as Magneto. Halle Berry and Ellen Page from Singer's trilogy and Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult from Vaughn’s film also star.
Game of Thrones' Peter Dinklage plays the main villain.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is based on Marvel's 1981 Uncanny X-Men storyline Days of Future Past by Chris Claremont and John Byrne.
