The New Zealand tour of Fawlty Towers Live, which was set to take place in February and March next year, has been cancelled.

Promoters cite "a number of factors" as reason for pulling the tour, including the devastating North Canterbury earthquake.

In a statement they say: "[After] last week's significant earthquake has seen an impact on two of the three tour cities - Christchurch and Wellington - where Fawlty Towers Live was due to perform next year, the producers have arrived at the difficult decision not to proceed with the New Zealand tour."

Anybody who has purchased tickets is being offered a full refund at the original point of purchase.

Fawlty Towers Live is currently touring Australia.
