The FBI has confirmed it's looking into allegations made against Brad Pitt following the announcement he and wife Angelina Jolie will divorce.
The organisation said in a statement that it's looking into an alleged incident on board an aircraft carrying Pitt and his children.
According to reports, Pitt is accused of being involved in a drunken argument, caught on video, which may have turned physical on board the family's private jet - triggering Jolie to file for divorce.
It's also reported the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services is now investigating the actor.
On Thursday (local time), the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) said it was not investigating Brad Pitt over the allegations, despite TMZ reports.
TMZ claimed the LAPD were looking into the September 14 incident, in which Pitt allegedly became "verbally abusive and physical" with his children.
While the LAPD shot down their involvement in the investigation, a DCFS spokesperson stated: "We're prohibited by law from disclosing case specific information or even identifying any involvement with any client."
