The first look at Scarlett Johansson in Ghost in the Shell has just been released, a film she is currently shooting in Wellington.
The film is an adaptation of the Japanese cyberpunk manga series of the same name. Johansson plays the lead, Commander Motoko Kusanagi, a special-ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid who leads an elite task force called Section 9.
The cast also includes Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche and Michael Pitt. Kiwi Game of Thrones star Joe Naufahu also has a role in the film, his agent has confirmed to Newshub, which looks set for release in March/April next year.
