Comedian and actor Kevin Hart has shared an image of the lead actors in costume during the first day of filming for the highly-anticipated Jumanji remake.

Hart, who plays Moose Finbar in the reboot, said the first day was "amazing" and lauded the "chemistry and energy" of the cast and crew - all of which he believes will combine for a "dope as hell" film.

Hart is one of a number of A-list celebrities to star in the film, performing alongside the likes of Jack Black, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Nick Jonas and Karen Gillan on set.

Johnson was also encouraged by the first day of filming, saying his co-stars were a "talented and motley crew", and reiterated Hart's sentiments that they are "makin' a good one".

According to Johnson, the film will be a "re-imagining" of the original 1995 Jumanji starring Robin Williams, with the film's creators believed to be going to pains to honour his role.

The movie is directed by Bad Teacher and Sex Tape filmmaker Jake Kasdan, and is due for release next year.
