The public can see the latest fashion trends on show for free at Auckland's Britomart precinct tomorrow.

The Britomart Fashion Sessions event on March 1 and 2 includes the designs from 18 of the shops in the Britomart precinct.

The event is being organised by the owners of the precinct, Cooper and Company, and spokeswoman Sarah Hull says it aims to show the public what the retailers and designers have to offer.

“We hope that people will come down and… have an amazing experience at the show, hanging out and enjoying the environment.”

The fashion shows will be in Atrium on Takutai, and models will come down a central staircase onto the runway.

“It’s pretty impressive,” Ms Hull says.

Designers who have individual shows include Trelise Cooper, Kathryn Wilson and Juliette Hogan, all on Friday.

Saturday will see shows which include designs from Kate Sylvester, Zambesi, WORLD, Ted Baker and Taylor Boutique.

If people want VIP treatment at the shows, they can buy a ticket for $45 or $65 which will get them a seat in the show, as well as a goody bag and entry to the pre-show drinks.

There will also be in-store specials at some of the shops in the area.

Ms Hull is expecting the shows to be popular, as last year’s event drew about 650 people per show.

But not all the shops in the area are taking part.

“Some of the stores have chosen not to be part of it,” Ms Hull says.

She says the Britomart area in general has been doing very well since it was revitalised in the last few years by Cooper and Company.

“We’ve been doing great. All the retailers are doing very well.”

  • Trelise Cooper – 1pm to 1:30pm
  • Kathryn Wilson – 7pm to 7.30pm
