Comedian Ricky Gervais says he no longer cares if anyone is offended by his risqué humour.

For 10 years he says critics have been predicting the end of his career would come with the telling of an off-colour joke, but it hasn't happened yet.

"The more they say that, the bigger I'm getting," he told the New York Daily News.

The 54-year-old outspoken atheist has hosted the Golden Globe Awards four times, shocking audiences with his no-holds-barred attacks on those attending. But he has no sympathy anymore for "whiney c**ts".

"If you're offended about something, then grow a pair. If you're offended about something that doesn't mean you're right. Some people are offended by equality, some people are offended by mixed marriage, some people are offended by same-sex marriage. What do we do about that? We f**king ignore them! I don't give a f**k what you're offended by."

He credits his advancing age with his carefree attitude.

"This is for intelligent grown-ups. If you don't get it, f**k you. Leave. You can f**king leave. This is my house. You come to my gig, you're in my f**king house."
