Gigi Hadid has become the latest victim of serial prankster Vitalii Sediuk.

The supermodel was leaving the Max Mara show at Milan Fashion Week with her sister Bella when he came up from behind and lifted her off her feet.

Gigi was quick to respond, elbowing him in the face before shouting, "What the f***? Let go of me! Who the f*** are you? You piece of shit!" until he ran away.

Sediuk tried to justify himself in an Instagram post, claiming he lifted 21-year-old because she doesn't belong on the runway.

"She and her friend Kendall Jenner have nothing to do with high fashion. By doing this, I encourage the fashion industry to put true talents on the runway and Vogue covers instead of well-connected cute girls from Instagram."

He also took a dig at Vogue editor Anna Wintor.

"You can call it a manifest or a protest. This is also a wake-up call for Anna Wintour, who turned Vogue into a tabloid by putting Kardashians and other similar celebrities on a cover of a well-respected magazine."

The UK tabloids were also quick to add their two cents, but chose to report only on the moment Hadid fought back rather than the whole incident.

The model was quick to notice and called the writer out on Twitter.

Rachel McGrath, a Huffington Post UK editor, decided to step in and re-word the headline more appropriately, which received praise from Hadid.

She defended her actions and said she had "every right" to defend herself.

"How dare that idiot thinks he has the right to manhandle a complete stranger."

Sediuk has been placed the no-fly list by U.S border security after being arrested for ambushing Brad Pitt on the red carpet in 2014.

His victims inclue Kim Kardashian, America Ferrara, Will Smith and Adele.
