Modelling on the catwalk has become a family affair on the North Shore.

Kiwi supermodel Ashleigh Good has modelled for Chanel and Givenchy and was cheering from the front row as her brother William made his debut at New Zealand Fashion Week.

Ashleigh, a willowy Aucklander, went from a North Shore bus to Parisian limo in a heartbeat, after a local model scout spotted her catching the bus to Albany Mall.

"I actually got contacted about two minutes after I posted her pictures on Facebook, by Ford New York," says Rose Packard-Dube, her modelling agent.

"They said 'have you placed her', I said no. They said 'can we have her?' I was like ok what are you going to do? They said 'if we can get her, an exclusive in Paris - can we have her?' I said absolutely."

Her very first show was in Paris for Givenchy and she went on to the runways of Paris, Milan, London and New York and graced the covers of some of the biggest fashion bibles in the world, including Italian Vogue.

Not even pregnancy stopped her in her catwalk tracks.

She walked for Chanel while six months pregnant with fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld's entire collection designed around her.

"It's just really surreal, I'm just this girl from NZ making headlines all over the world, that was a really special moment for me and probably one of the highlights of my career," says Ashleigh.

Now she's back home, happy to sit the catwalk out to play family photographer and cheerleader for her brother.

William has a lot to live up to.
