Fans of Rihanna were left disappointed when it was announced the artist would be pulling out of her Grammy performance.

Doctors advised Rihanna to rest her voice after her rehearsal this morning.

Earlier in the day at a ceremony before the television broadcast, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (NZSO) were unsuccessful in winning the Grammy for Best Orchestral Performance.

The award went to Boston's orchestra instead.

The NZSO were nominated for their rendition of Zhou Long & Chen Yi's Symphony 'Humen 1839'.
