Heather Mills: Kids know who I am, McCartney who?

Heather Mills has upset fans of her ex-husband Paul McCartney by suggesting he's an irrelevant has-been who has to work with Rihanna and Kanye West to have hits.

The former Beatles star's former wife was a guest on Ireland's The Late Late Show on Saturday when she took aim at the rocker after host Ryan Tubridy took issue as she attempted to avoid talking about her ex.

After Mills insisted people were not interested in McCartney, Tubridy said, "I think people are more interested than you allow for," prompting the reality TV star-turned-alpine skier to attempt to correct him.

She explained, "When I go down the street, I get kids coming up to me... [and] half of them don't even know who he is. That's why he has to do songs with Rihanna and Kanye West, so people remember.

"When I go down the street, it's, 'Oh my God! You're a ski-racer', or, 'You help the animals'... I own the biggest vegan company in the world."

Her comments led to a flurry of activity on social media as McCartney fans offered up support for the rocker.

One Twitter user wrote, "While I'm sure plenty of teens don't know or care much about Paul McCartney, I'd be shocked if any of them know Heather Mills helps animals", and another tweeted, "Heather Mills really is the worst. In other news, all of my cousins, who range in age from 15 to 23, know who Paul McCartney and the Beatles are. Most younger kids I know would at least recognize some of their songs. The idea that they would know who Heather f**kin' Mills is over Paul or the Beatles is just laughable."
