Andy Serkis says the final Hobbit film The Battle of the Five Armies will be an "amazing finish" to the trilogy.
"Peter [Jackson] has just made the most incredible picture, he's made the most phenomenal final film," he told 3 News entertainment reporter Kate Rodger at the world premiere.
Serkis was second unit director on all three Hobbit films and also played Gollum in previous films as well as in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. He said it's hard to believe his Middle-earth journey has come to an end.
"I don't think any of us can really quite fathom it really, that there isn't going to be another one of these – it's one last time. It's extraordinary. There are lots of emotions running high."
Serkis has reportedly been confirmed as the man behind the mysterious, snarling voiceover in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer released last week.
