'Take Me To Church' Grammy-nominated singer Hozier will be releasing a music video to his track 'Cherry Wine' on Valentine's Day, with all local proceeds being donated to the New Zealand domestic abuse charity Shine.

The video will show Oscar nominee Saorise Ronan portraying a woman living in a physically abusive relationship.

Shine will be one of the international charities to gain from the proceeds of the Irish-born singer's single, which can be purchased on iTunes.

Shine provides a national domestic abuse helpline and other services to help adult and child victims of domestic abuse. The organisation aims to motivate people who have been abusive to their partners and families "to change their behaviour."

"We are incredibly grateful that Hozier has chosen to raise awareness about domestic violence as well as donate proceeds from his sing to Shine," says executive director Jane Drumm.

"Domestic abuse is at epidemic levels in New Zealand, with New Zealand Police attending an incident every five minutes."

Shine's annual Orange Friday fundraiser begins on March 11.

If you or anyone you know is suffering from domestic abuse, you can call the Shine helpline on 0508 744 633.
