When Emma and Courtney took to the stage on Monday night's Blockstars, they were always going to be great. But more than one person was surprised when their performance was literally smashing.
The four Block teams were given the challenge of entertaining the crowd in a different genre. The winning team could choose one team to remove from Room Reveal all together.
When Emma and Courtney met up with Brendan Thomas and the Vibes for their rehearsal, she told them she had big expectations for the performance.
"I wanted to smash a guitar, like rock and roll, and they said 'we've got this guitar that we used on X Factor to smash'" says Emma.
Before the performance, Emma says "they [the band] showed me the guitar and I asked them 'is this the right guitar?' and they said 'yeah, yeah' but I don't think they even looked."
When it came to the performance, their song went off without a hitch, that was, until the end of it.
"Then it gets to our solo and I just lose the plot, I just lose it, I actually think it I'm a rock star."
So in the spirit of things, Emma picks up the guitar and starts to smash it.
"I actually struggled to break it."
"I kept trying to smash it and I did. Then I got off stage and they said 'you just smashed a prop'. I thought they were taking the piss."
But this time, it was no joke. Turns out, the guitar had been hired and in fact wasn't the prop at all - she smashed the wrong guitar.
"I was thinking 'if that comes off our house reserve, we are screwed.'"
Thankfully, the guitar was repaired, and no one had to pay for a new guitar.
"Oopsy" says Emma.
"Turns out, at the end it would have been a very costly mistake because we didn't even win."
